Grant Funding

The Galesburg Community Foundation serves the Galesburg community and those residing within thirty miles of the city by making grants available to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. There are three types of grants available:

• Discretionary Small Grants - up to $500
• Mini Grants - $1,000 to $2,000
• Major Grants - $3,000 to $6,000

Small Grants are awarded as the need arises; Mini and Major Grant applications need to be submitted by July 1 with grant money awarded by September 1.

• In 2005, the Foundation awarded over $8,000 in grants and $10,000 in scholarships.  The Helen H. Wetherbee Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,000.
  
  
• In 2006, the Foundation awarded over $78,000 in grants and $10,000 in scholarships.  The Helen H. Wetherbee Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,000.
  
  
• In 2007, the Foundation awarded over $102,000 in grants and $15,000 in scholarships.  The Helen H. Wetherbee Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,000.
